Dexron III.Dex/Mercon 4 or 6 will not hurt anything either. You likely need to relocation the power steering reservoir/filter, plus the 2 hose which leave that reservoir. Yes, you could get amethod through replacing the clamps....yet, hey. you"ve gained leaking rubber items, AND a filter, that are 13 years old. Tip Up. They were because of be reinserted five years earlier.

To add to Chris"s statement, I recommfinish you percreate a power steering flush. Stuff you"ll need:- new reservoir (ZF brand also only)- 4 quarts of non-synthetic Dex as Chris noted- 2 quarts of Redline D4ATF- 4 feet of heater hoseRelocation the 2 hoses as recommfinish by Chris. Install the new reservoir (ZF ONLY) yet leave the front hose unassociated. That"s the rerotate hose. Leave the plastic reservoir stopper for that hose on the reservoir. Fill the reservoir via the cheapo Dex. Placed the heater hose on the hose that"s not connected. Put the other end of the heater hose right into big container (2 gallons or more). Have someone start the vehicle and also continually turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. Keep filling the reservoir through the cheapo Dex. You"ll watch some nasty liquid come out. Then, switch over to the Redline fluid. Sheight when you"re dvery own to about 1/2 quart of the Redline. Check for leaks. Disaffix the heater hose. Siphon out the fluid in the reservoir and affix the hose to it. Fill with Redline. Start the car and also rotate the steering wheel. Fill to the correct level with Redline.
